Canterbury's newest gym. Located a few minutes drive from Christchurch International Airport and surrounding motels makes this a convenient choice for travellers in transit. The clientele is across the board in age and ability, ranging from 15 to an amazing 92 year old. The staff are helpful and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.
It has brand new state of the art cardio equipment and a wide range of machine weights and free weights. They offer a choice of aerobics classes designed to suit all capabilities and Pilates
Facilities include Sunbeds, Child minding facility. Five
personal trainers, a massage therapist and nutritionist
are available. When you join, you receive six sessions
with a personal trainer over six weeks.

In fashionable Merivale, ten minutes drive from the city
centre, a small to medium sized up market facility established
in 1999. The clientele is middle of the road and predominantly
middle aged - although we did spot one of the Canterbury
Crusader's rugby team having a work out.
We were assured there is no problem getting access to
equipment with plenty of off street parking nearby. The
gym is equipped with all you could ask for in state of
the art Italian "Technogym" cardio equipment
and machine weights.
Cardio equipment consists of two treadmills, four spin
cycles, one cross trainer, a grinder and two Concept II
rowers. The free weights area has dumbells 1 to 40kg and
barbells 1 kg and up. There's a comprehensive range of
machine weights. Spa and Saunas Qualified personal trainers
and resident massage therapist

Five minutes drive from the airport and twenty from the
city centre . A community gym but casual visitors are
welcome. Clientele is diverse, housewives, retired locals
and students. We agree with the staff who say there's
nothing pretentious or glossy about this homely gym. Its
what you would expect at a “Y”. Old but functional range
of cardio equipment, machine and free weights . Other
attractions here are three squash courts, basketball,
badminton, trampoline, and a bouldering wall. Trainers
are happy to give free advice. Massage therapist available
by appointment. Plenty of free parking
